The EAST END COMMUNITY SCHOOL PTO -

WE MAKE THINGS BETTER FOR OUR KIDS

(AND WE NEED YOUR HELP).

IF YOU ARE A PARENT OR A CAREGIVER OF A STUDENT ENROLLED AT EECS, PLEASE:

We are a small group of parents working to do all we can for the kids at EECS. We fund a lot of great stuff: during the 2023/2024 School Year we raised about $6000 and we spent it all - on swim lessons, field trips for every student, incredible in-school performances by Mayo Street Arts performers, books for the school library, garden classes, teacher appreciation stuff, and outdoor clothing for everyone. We also hosted three fun community events - our Fall Festival in October, our Spring Family Dance Party, and our End of the Year Ice Cream Party - and we’d like to do it all again.

We’d like to do more. The PTO is full of busy parents - just like you. We partner with the school - EECS staff attend all of our meetings and we support them in every way we can, and vice versa. Our primary source of funds are two huge bake sales we do in November and December - one on voting day in November, and one during the first weekend in December when the Art on the Hill Art Show happens at EECS and we (the PTO) provide the food as a fundraiser. We need a ton of help with these! Please get ready to bake, organize, approach local businesses, and work the tables. It’s a lot of fun.

In order to do more, we need more volunteers. We need people who are interested in advocacy (specifically around the school budget process), grant writing, organizing, working events, graphic design, baking, approaching local businesses to partner with us, and we would love to hear your ideas. Do you have some experience that could help us? Please let us know. We’d love to see you at a meeting, or email us here and say hello. You can see our board members HERE - please stop us and say hello if you see us around the school. We are always looking for more people to join us.

Join our mailing list to stay up to date on everything we are doing and hoping to do - join us when you can.

OUR MISSION is to enhance the educational opportunities at EECS and to encourage community and shared experiences with the families and neighborhoods that surround the school.

AND IS THERE ANYTHING WE CAN DO FOR YOU?

DO YOU HAVE NEEDS, REQUESTS OR CONCERNS FOR OUR EECS COMMUNITY?

WE’D LIKE TO HEAR THEM. PLEASE EMAIL US - WE WILL GET BACK TO YOU. THANK YOU.
